And Michelle Pfeiffer looked every inch the proud wife as she supported David E. Kelley at the premiere for season two of the hit HBO show at Lincoln Center in New York on Wednesday.
The 61-year-old actress looked effortlessly chic at the event as she rocked a plaid trouser suit whilst cosying up to her other half, 63.
Michelle sheathed her youthful figure in a grey plaid suit adorned with glitter, layered over a black satin camisole.
The blonde bombshell accessorised with a patent black clutch bag whilst she boosted her frame with a pair of patent stilettos.
She completed the look with a delicate black necklace, whilst she styled her glossy honey hued locks in loose waves.
Michelle stood hand in hand with David, who is the creator, writer and executive producer of Big Little Lies, which is based on a story by best-selling author Liane Moriarty.
According to HBO, the second series ‘will continue to explore the malignancy of lies, the durability of friendships, the fragility of marriage and, of course, the vicious ferocity of sound parenting.
‘Multiple characters will be dealing with Perry’s death, and the prospect of moving past a life-altering event.’
Big Little Lies season 2 will premiere in the US on HBO at 9pm on Sunday 9 June.
UK viewers can catch it at the same time, as it will be simulcast live on Sky Atlantic at 2am on Monday 10, or later in the day at the more sociable hour of 9pm.
As well as Big Little Lies, David is the man behind shows such as Chicago Hope, The Practice and Ally McBeal.
David and Michelle married in 1993 after meeting on a blind date earlier that year. They have raised two children: Claudia Rose and John Henry.
The Grease 2 alum took a big acting break to care for her two children, previously explaining: ‘When my children came, my priorities just sort of shifted and it just became harder and harder the older that they got.
‘You would think it would be the opposite, but the older that they got it became harder and harder to say yes. And so there was a certain period where I just didn’t work.
‘So then, when they started looking at colleges, it really hit me and I realized that I was going to have a really hard time when they left.’
Michelle continued: ‘And I was ready to go back to work, that I wanted to start to prepare myself. So I kind of started, I did a little bit here and there, some smaller parts here and there.
‘So I guess the short answer is, I’m back working because I can. And it feels really good and I love it, I’m having a great time.’
