Michelle Pfeiffer in Amazon’s ‘Oh. What. Fun.’ Trailer

I know it might seem a bit early to discuss Christmas, but it’s always nice to have some advance excitement, especially with Michelle Pfeiffer involved.

Amazon just released the first trailer for their upcoming holiday movie, “Oh. What. Fun.” starring Michelle, Felicity Jones, and Chloë Grace Moretz, and we’re really excited!

According to COLLIDER:

Michelle Pfeiffer Is a Holly Jolly Icon in First ‘Oh. What. Fun.’ Sneak Peek

A little over seven months remain until Christmas, but Amazon is already in the holiday spirit at the company’s annual upfront presentation. While previewing the upcoming slate of titles coming soon to Prime Video, the company offered the first sneak peek at its spirited holiday comedy Oh. What. Fun. starring Michelle Pfeiffer. The film puts the Batman Returns and The Fabulous Baker Boys star in the role of Claire Clauster, who puts in double the effort to make Christmas magic happen every year. However, her grown kids, grandchildren, and even her husband never fully realize the Herculean task she pulls off for the holidays until she’s missing and sets off on her own festive adventure. As everyone else scrambles to save their annual get-together, she gets a chance to rediscover the joys of putting herself first for a change. The film premieres on December 3.

The teaser opens with Claire wondering, “Why does St. Nick get all the credit?” as she finishes wrapping gifts. That’s just one of her many tasks when preparing for Christmas, from decking the halls to baking fabulous frosted cookies, and generally making sure everyone has a good time when they come home. While she puts on a brave front, she privately laments all the constant calls of “mom” and the lack of recognition for everything mothers, from her to Mrs. Claus, do to make the holidays function. Yet, this Christmas, while everyone else has seasonal drama to deal with from festive plays with oddly jacked Santas to annoying neighbors, she’s off to spread holiday cheer in her own way. That means appreciating the little moments with friends and somehow ending up dancing on television, where her children agree she looks like an “icon.”

Oh. What. Fun. is based on an Amazon Original short story by Chandler Baker that celebrates the overworked holiday hosts with a focus on “family, freedom, and the unexpected magic of a Christmas gone off-script.” While Claire takes center stage, her family will also get plenty of screentime as they scramble to find her and somehow salvage their holiday. Joining Pfeiffer for the occasion is a massively talented ensemble including Felicity Jones, Chloë Grace Moretz, Denis Leary, Dominic Sessa, Danielle Brooks, Devery Jacobs, Havana Rose Liu, Maude Apatow, Jason Schwartzman, Eva Longoria, and Joan Chen.

Who Else Is Behind ‘Oh. What. Fun.’?

At the helm of the Christmas comedy is Michael Showalter, who’s already a proven winner at Prime Video. Aside from penning Wet Hot American Summer and writing and directing The Big Sick, he’s also found success as the helmer of the streaming service’s smash-hit adaptation of The Idea of You starring Nicholas Galitzine and Anne Hathaway. Because of his track record with romance, he’s been tapped to take charge of the next big Colleen Hoover adaptation, Verity, reuniting him with Hathaway alongside Josh Hartnett and Dakota Johnson and premiering in 2026. For Oh. What. Fun., he co-wrote the screenplay directly with Baker, ensuring the film captured the spirit of the author’s original story.
