Michelle Pfeiffer on being Catwoman again!

We all remember Pfeiffer’s portrayal of the sexy super villain in the 1992 movie Batman Returns. Who couldn’t in that stunning catsuit? Even now she turns heads away from Facebook, for she did cut a stunning figure. Sadly, while she enjoyed playing the role and would happily do it again, she says it’s unlikely.
The quotes come out just as the poster for the new Batman movie, The Dark Knight Rises is revealed, teasing the audience with nothing more than Catwoman’s leather heeled foot. This time around though, the iconic figure is being played by Anne Hathaway, who Pfeiffer insists is perfect for the role and looks fantastic.
“I think she’s great. I’m actually very much looking forward to seeing her in that role. I’m a big fan of hers and I think she has everything you need… She has the humour, she can go to dark places, she’s obviously very talented. I think she’s going to be really good.”
Sadly when asked if she would ever return to the role, she said that while she’d probably do it if they asked “It’s unlikely that they’re going to ask me.”
If they ever wanted her back though, she’d like to think the tight fitting catsuit would be a little more comfortable. She claims she felt “vacuum packed.” when she played the role 20 years ago.
So we’re not going to get Pfeiffer’s Catwoman again. Still we can’t help thinking how cool that would be to have Anne Hathaway and the woman who made the character iconic standing side by side. Now that we’d pay to see.

Michelle was so wonderfully over the top in “Batman Returns.” She unleashed her incredible wild side as the iconic Catwoman. However, I don’t think that enough mention is made of her portrayal of Selena Kyle. In portraying the changes to Catwoman’s alter ego Michelle delivered a devastingly gorgeous, psychologically complex and compelling performance. As so many have said, it is tough to fill those stiletos.

      I totally agree Alan!
Selina Kyle and her alter ego Catwoman form one of Michelle’s darkest and most complex characters, an amazing amalgam of anger, sadness, humour, sex appeal and raw physical power.
Selina’s transformation from mousy secretary to furious feline is one of Pfeiffer’s finest hours.
Michelle is Catwoman, hear her roar!
