Michelle Pfeiffer is nominated as Best Actress by Gotham Awards for “Where is Kyra?” | October 19, 2018

Michelle Pfeiffer earned her first Gotham Awards Nomination with “Where is Kyra?”

Good work speaks for itself. We all knew that “Where is Kyra?” carries one of the best reviews of Michelle Pfeiffer’s delicate performance in years, and it is also her first leading role on the main title since 2009’s “Cheri”. But we also knew that the fate of the movie is as desperate as the movie name itself…it took more than year to finally get a small cinema release after its’ first screening in the Sundance Film Festival 2017, when it was actually releasing in the cinema, there’s not even one online or TV promotion for the movie it deserved.

When we nearly gave up all the hopes for the coming awards season, Gotham Awards giving us the justice of quality work will eventually get their recognition.

Michelle Pfeiffer’s “Where is Kyra?” is nominated as Best Actress at this year’s Gotham Awards alongside with Glenn Close “The Wife”,  Toni Collette “Hereditary”, Kathryn Hahn “Private Life” and Regina Hall “Support the Girls”.

Michelle Pfeiffer’s performance in “Where is Kyra?” was widely chosen as one of the best performance of 2018 by critics and you can read the rave reviews HERE.

The IFP Gotham Awards – selected by distinguished juries and presented in New York City, the home of independent film, are the first honors of the film awards season. This public showcase honors the filmmaking community, expands the audience for independent films, and supports the work that IFP does behind the scenes throughout the year to bring such films to fruition.

The 26 annual Gotham Awards will be held on Nov. 26 at Cipriani Wall Street.
